A Personal Note From John

30 days, $11,000. This has been by far the most exciting and humbling month of my entire life. To those of you who spread the word – by posting on Facebook, by tweeting and retweeting, by telling your friends, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest and enthusiasm. This could have never happened if no one heard it was happening.

To those of you who took it upon themselves to donate – I am baffled by what you do and what you have done for me. I have had to constantly remind myself this past month that what I have been asking for is not charity, but genuinely asking you to be a part of this project. Well now point at this record and tell anyone and everyone you ever meet, “See that? That would not have happened without me.” It's true. You are just as much a part of this project is I am. I am so thankful that you believe in what I have done and especially what I am planning to do. Even though I don't necessarily write music for other people in the most philosophical sense, the fact that you not only want to hear it, but have given monetarily to help me continue to do it is something I don't think I will ever fully understand. Your generosity and faith in me confuses and inspires me. This letter can't show you how grateful I am, but hopefully you will hear it in the record. I'm planning on pouring every ounce of myself into this. So maybe when you put it in your CD player, or you iPod you'll hear how much this means to me. I have a lot to say with this record, and I thank you for taking a minute to stop and help me say it.

There are many of you who backed this project that I do not know. Wow. I sincerely hope I can meet or correspond with every single one of you in the future, because you seem to be the kind of people I'd like to surround myself with. Thank you. On the other hand, this month has shown me what a truly amazing group of friends and family I have been given. I do not deserve your kindness or affection, but I will do everything in my power to honor opportunity that you have given me and work to return your generosity as genuinely and honestly as I can.

We're making this record! This thing that has been shifting and waiting in my head and in my ears for the past year and a half is going to start to become tangible very soon. I do not dare to make this record for myself, or for anyone. I am blessed beyond belief to be able to do what I love. May I never take that for granted. May every song convey the emotion, excitement, enthusiasm, and passion I have at this very moment. May this never be for my own glory or honor. I can not thank you enough. This letter can never thank you enough. May God bless you and get all the glory for what we do.
